Meritor employees recognized as Women Worth Watching in STEM

Meritor Inc., Troy, Mich., a supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking, and aftermarket products for the commercial vehicle and industrial markets, has announced that employees Linda Taliaferro and Lucille Gartman are among 45 individuals recognized as Women Worth Watching in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) by Profiles in Diversity Journal®. Taliaferro is vice president, global quality, and Gartman is site manager in Franklin, Ky.

In honor of their achievement and to further STEM education, Meritor will contribute $3,000 from the Meritor Trust Fund: $1,500 on behalf of Taliaferro to the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program and $1,500 to the Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College for Gartman.

Taliaferro has more than 30 years of experience working with statistical data as a strategist who focuses on quality management and operational excellence. Gartman spent the first half of her career working in quality, then transitioned to the operations side of manufacturing and has worked in STEM-related roles including carrier assembly manager, housing manager, and operations manager.
