Mettler Toledo white paper explains effect of ISO 9001:2015 on weighing processes

ISO 9001:2015 was released in 2015, and certified organizations must adopt the changes into their own quality management systems by September 2018. A new white paper from Switzerland-based precision instrument manufacturer Mettler Toledo, “ISO 9001:2015 and Weighing,” explains how ISO 9001:2015 places greater emphasis on the process approach, with risk-based thinking becoming an important focus, and how risk-based thinking can be applied to weighing processes.

In relation to weighing and calibration, every organization is obliged to ensure that every balance or scale used in a weighing process is accurate enough to achieve the intended results. Weighing has a critical impact on product quality, because quality is directly related to the accuracy of weighing results, and accuracy is determined through calibration.

The paper also describes the company’s Good Weighing Practice™ and explains how to apply a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle for weighing processes.
