Michigan students to participate in Manufacturing Day events

More than 400 students from across Oakland County, Mich., will tour some of the largest manufacturing companies in the state as part of Manufacturing DaySM, Oct. 6.

As part of the county’s third annual initiative supporting the national program, the students will be able to experience firsthand what’s happening at 64 area automotive equipment manufacturing companies.

Students from the four Oakland Schools Technical Center campuses, which represent all school districts across the county, as well as students from Pontiac Schools, Waterford School District, Ferndale Schools, and Oak Park School District, will be participating.

Students will meet with and speak to professionals in the automotive, 3-D printing, robotics, manufacturing, and aerospace industry and participate in hands-on activities that provide awareness about opportunities available to them after college.
