Mid Atlantic Machinery raises more than $45,000 for local trade school

To support the education of future fabricators in central Pennsylvania, machine tool and fabrication equipment distributor Mid Atlantic Machinery recently hosted its 2nd Annual Golf Classic. The event raised more than $45,000 for the metal fabrication and welding technology program at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Representatives of metal fabrication companies from New York to Delaware joined Mid Atlantic on the greens at the Hershey Country Club to raise a total of $46,505 to help “meet the higher-education needs of low-income, historically under-represented students, resulting in immediate employment at a sustaining wage, supporting the growth and strength of business and industry across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” as outlined in the Thaddeus Stevens mission statement.

The event was sponsored by TRUMPF; brands including ALLtra, Bend-Tech, Big Steel Rack, Cidan, Coe, and Kinetic were among the top donors. Companies such as Viocity, MH Eby, Miller Fabricating Solutions, and Precision Cut Industries were represented by the 63 golfers and 80 luncheon attendees.
