Nextracker commissions new manufacturing plant with JM Steel

Nextracker and flat-rolled steel products manufacturer JM Steel, a division of Jennmar USA, have launched a dedicated solar tracker production line on the campus of the Steel Dynamics (SDI) facility near Corpus Christi, Texas. The plant manufactures low-carbon tracker components for solar power plants throughout the southern U.S.

In response to global supply disruptions, Nextracker, a provider of integrated solar tracker and software systems, made the strategic decision to focus on manufacturing in the U.S. With this facility, the company has a dedicated supply of critical materials in the growing solar market of Texas and the southern U.S.

“All of the steel being used to make Nextracker’s products will be made with SDI's newest electric arc furnace technology, which uses recycled or scrap steel as a raw material for a lower carbon footprint, which is a perfect fit for Nextracker's solar products." said Tony Calandra, CEO of JM Steel and Jennmar USA.
