North American competitiveness and trade to be discussed at the FMA Annual Meeting

FMA’s Annual Meeting: The Fabrication and Metals Industries’ Leadership Conference is happening March 1-3 in Miami. At this industry-exclusive educational and networking event for metal manufacturing professionals, you’ll enjoy presentations by industry experts with insight on what’s coming next.

In the “North American Competitiveness in a Chaotic World” panel discussion, panelists will discuss opportunities and challenges North America faces during a pandemic, shipping crises, and increasing natural disasters. Does the USMCA (the new NAFTA) provide stability in a tumultuous time? How can we capitalize on the chaos? What role does politics play in each country? Can our supply chains withstand the pressure? What are the steps needed by government and industry? How can we strengthen our North American relationship?

The industry panelists addressing those questions are:

  • Tiffany Melvin - president, North American Strategy for Competitiveness (NASCO)
  • Dan Ujczo - senior counsel, Thompson Hine LLP (representing the U.S.)
  • Andrea van Vugt - global director, Harper & Associates (representing Canada)
  • Carlos Mendizabal – president, Industrias Selbor SA de CV (representing Mexico)
