Protomet to expand in Tennessee

Oak Ridge, Tenn.-based Protomet Corp. has announced plans to invest $29.3 million to establish a new facility in Loudon, Tenn., creating 200 new jobs.

The company will rehab a 224,000-sq.-ft. building to include manufacturing, engineering, and R&D capabilities. The plant is expected to be operational in the first half of 2018.

The company offers engineering, production, manufacturing, and finishing services for the marine and boating, automotive, homeland security, industrial, energy, and power sectors.
