Pure Watercraft to assemble all-electric pontoon boat in West Virginia

Seattle-based Pure Watercraft, a direct-to-consumer provider of electric boats, has announced plans to manufacture its electric pontoon boats in Beech Bottom, W. Va.

The manufacturer has chosen an 80,000-sq.-ft. production facility, a revitalized former steel plant on the banks of the Ohio River, to produce the boat, which is being developed in collaboration with strategic investor General Motors. The company expects to invest at least $5 million in the plant, creating more than 100 full-time jobs by the end of 2025.
