SAF-Holland to close two Michigan plants

SAF-Holland SA, a trailer, truck, and bus supplier based in Luxembourg, plans to close its Holland, Mich., manufacturing facility, eliminating all 97 jobs there. Its Muskegon, Mich., manufacturing plant also will close, but the SAF-Holland USA Inc. headquarters in Muskegon, which includes administrative office and testing centers, will remain open.

According to the company, the closures are part of a consolidation and restructuring of its North American plant network in response to weak North American truck and trailer markets. Production activities from the two closed plants will move to facilities in Arkansas, Ohio, and Texas.
