Sciaky wins President's "E" Award for exporting metal 3-D printing systems

Chicago-based Sciaky Inc., a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries Inc. and provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) systems, has received the President's "E" Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce for the export of its Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM®) systems to countries around the world.

The award recognizes persons, firms, and organizations that contribute in the effort to increase U.S. exports, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and work of broad impact.

The EBAM system can produce parts from 8 in. to 19 ft. long. It offers deposition rates from 7 to 20 lbs. of metal per hour. Its IRISS® (Interlayer Real-time Imaging and Sensing System) control can sense and digitally self-adjust metal deposition to help ensure consistent part geometry, mechanical properties, microstructure, and metal chemistry.
