Solar Atmospheres orders 12-ft. horizontal vacuum furnace

Solar Atmospheres has ordered a 144- by 54- by 54-in. car-bottom vacuum furnace, capable of processing loads up to 50,000 lbs., for its Greenville, S.C., facility. Manufactured by sister company Solar Mfg., the furnace is scheduled for installation in early 2020.

The furnace’s vacuum pumping system can achieve an ultimate vacuum of 1x10^-6 torr for processing titanium and other high-grade alloys. Additionally, it features new designs for uniform and rapid cooling of large work loads.
