Sportsman Boats Mfg. expanding operations in South Carolina

Sportsman Boats Mfg. Inc., a family-owned and -operated maker of saltwater fishing boats, has announced plans to expand its operations in Summerville, S.C. The $8 million investment will create 75 jobs.

The expansion will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demands of the boating market. The expansion plan includes a 75,000-sq.-ft., climate-controlled building that will accommodate the manufacturing of small fiberglass parts and powder coating. The plans also include a new parking lot for employees and additional parking for the company’s boat transportation fleet.

The expansion is expected to be complete in Q3 2022.
