TRUMPF appoints product managers for TruLaser Weld, TruLaser Tube

Farmington, Conn.-based TRUMPF Inc., a manufacturer of fabricating machinery and industrial lasers, has named Masoud Harooni as product manager of TruLaser Weld and Adi Buerkler as product manager of TruLaser Tube. Both are new positions for the Laser Product Group.
Harooni has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and began PhD studies in mechanical engineering with a minor in laser welding at the Research Center for Advanced Manufacturing at SMU. He previously worked as a laser welding engineer at a Tier 1 automotive supplier and served as part-time faculty for Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he developed and taught a modern manufacturing processes course. Harooni joined the company in 2017 as a senior advanced technology engineer.
Buerkler began his career with the company in 1998 in Gruesch, Switzerland, as a mechanical engineer. He transferred to the U.S. headquarters in Connecticut in 2001, where he most recently served as manager of the International Service Competence Center and technical manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the GBC Business School in Switzerland and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
