TRUMPF marks 50th anniversary of U.S. subsidiary

The TRUMPF smart factory for Industry 4.0 manufacturing sits off Interstate 90 in the Chicagoland area.

TRUMPF Inc. marked its 50th anniversary on Sept. 30 at its headquarters in Farmington, Conn. The U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based TRUMPF was established in Farmington in July 1969, offering sales and service for the company’s metal fabricating machinery.

Today TRUMPF comprises several locations in North America, and its headquarters has grown from a sales location to a manufacturing facility.

From becoming the first foreign production site for TRUMPF punching tools, the U.S. subsidiary now develops and produces machines, lasers, and tooling to supply American industries including traditional agriculture and farming, automobile and aerospace, and consumer electronics. The company employs more than 1,500 people across all its North American locations.
