Two Kennametal leaders recognized with Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead Awards

Kennametal Inc., Pittsburgh, has announced that Jianhua (Daisy) Sun, regional quality manager for its Asia Pacific region, and Michele Jenkins, site business director for its Rogers, Ark., location, have been selected to receive Women in Manufacturing STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production) Ahead Awards presented by The Manufacturing Institute.

The awards recognize women and their accomplishments throughout manufacturing, from the factory floor to administration, and promote the numerous opportunities available in the manufacturing industry.

In addition to her work at Kennametal, Sun participates in many community programs such as mentoring, fundraising campaigns, and environmental initiatives. Jenkins, a U.S. Army veteran of the Gulf War, also is a strong supporter of her community, working with manufacturing, engineering, and mentoring programs in local high schools.
