Destaco’s 84N5 series universal sheet metal grippers designed for press shop applications

Destaco has introduced the 84N5 series sheet metal grippers, part of the Accelerate Collection designed for automotive manufacturing press shop stamping lines. Operating at actuations speeds of 78 ms, which the company says is twice the speed of competing products, the grippers maintain a grip force of 1,200 N at 72.5 PSI.

The grippers are available in fixed, double-open, and 90-degree jaw configurations. The jaws are interchangeable and can be adjusted in the field in 10 min. or less with a single Allen wrench. The jaws include a visual opening angle indicator and are adjustable at any point within a 15- to 75-degree opening angle.

Color-coded tips indicate what sheet metal thickness can be gripped. The jaws are designed to accept both single- and double-tip designs.
