Burnishing compound designed for mass finishing

Madison Chemical has introduced Tumble Brite EP-13, a mild burnishing compound for mass finishing operations. It decreases burnishing time while cleaning oils and removing oxide and scale, producing a smooth surface with a bright appearance and luster, the manufacturer reports.

The compound provides excellent lubricity and controlled foam, and it reduces excessive media-to-media wear, making it suitable for vibratory or barrel operations, states the company.

With a pH of 3.0 to 3.5 and a specific gravity of 1.08, the compound does not contain nitrite, phosphorus, or silicate. It can be used on stainless steel, ferrous, aluminum, zinc, copper, and brass alloys, as well as for deburring operations. When not rinsed, it provides short-term rust protection for normal operations of steel media.
