Flange-facing tool delivers phonographic finish

Esco Tool offers the FLANGE HOG 110®, a manually operated hand tool for refacing damaged flanges and restoring them to like-new condition with a phonographic finish.

The tool has a rigid ID clamping system and a 1- to 10-in. ID range that provides a facing diameter up to 14 in. It is suitable for refacing a variety of flange materials, including cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and many alloys. The user swings the tool in a circular motion to advance the facing blade outward and create a phonographic finish.

Alignment accuracy is 0.005 in. The worm gear drives a lead screw to produce a continuous spiral finish. Two interchangeable cross feeds are available for both a smooth and stock finish in accordance with ASME B16.5 standards.
