Madison Chemical’s Enviro-Bon NCP-60 conversion coater provides caustic-free coating, cleaning

Madison Chemical has introduced Enviro-Bond NCP-60, a zero-phosphate conversion coater for the pretreatment of ferrous, aluminum, zinc, and stainless alloys. Using inorganic nano-zirconium technology with biodegradable surfactants, it chemically changes the surface to develop a nano-size inorganic structure, providing pretreatment when painting steel or aluminum without the use of harsh alkaline or caustic precleaners.

With a maximum operating temperature of 120 degrees F and concentration of 3 percent or less, the coater reduces energy needs. It also can increase corrosion resistance, extending salt spray hours, the company reports.
