Norton QUANTUM3 grinding wheels from Saint-Gobain Abrasives eliminate grabbing, digging

Saint-Gobain Abrasives has introduced Norton QUANTUM3™ Combination Wheels. These grinding wheels have 50 percent longer life than competitive wheels and can increase productivity by 15 percent, the manufacturer says.

The wheels are suitable for applications such as general fabrication; oil rig building and repair; and rail, container, and pipeline manufacturing. They feature a proprietary grain and a bond system that combines fillers and bonding agents for increased metal removal and long wheel life, according to the company.

The rounded grain allows the wheels to glide through the workpiece while removing metal, eliminating grabbing and digging. The free-cutting control can boost the amperage on its own without additional pressure needed on the tool.

The wheels are offered in 10 Type 27 all-purpose grinding and cutting application SKUs.
