LaserCoil Technologies adds 8-kW laser heads to coil blanking system

LaserCoil Technologies LLC has introduced 8-kW fiber laser head featuring a proprietary Z-axis design integrated directly into the laser blanking system. This feature allows the laser head to adjust rapidly to height variations in the material, maintaining consistent stand-off for higher speed when cutting materials that are less than perfectly flat.

The laser blanking systems can be sold with a single 8-kW laser head or with multiple heads that share the cutting workload. Additionally, the systems offer multimode capability, allowing users to choose either feed index mode (stop/start) or continuous mode.

With 8-kW systems, simple shapes in material thicknesses from 0.02 to 0.03 in. can be cut at speeds approaching 7 ft./sec., making laser blanking a suitable choice for volumes of less than 100,000 per year.
