Slatpro’s Slaghog removes tough slag

The Slaghog is an electric tool that removes tough slag and dross buildup from the slats of laser cutting surfaces. The lightweight unit is designed to cut through slag from copper and steel support slats from 0.075 to 0.25 in. thick and clean slats of various lengths. With regular maintenance, cleaning slat beds takes 10 to 15 min., says the company.

Slat Shield Plus is a slag preventive to reduce slag buildup. The water-based product is sprayed on new or recently cleaned slats to reduce spatter on the back side of cut parts. Removing parts from the cut skeleton is simplified with the Rhino Hammer, a pneumatically powered hand tool that creates vibration and breaks the tab loose that holds the part. Other magnetic hand tools are offered that simplify removing finished parts.
