Burning table HMI introduced
- June 27, 2011
- Product Release
- Materials Handling
Walker Magnetics has introduced what it says is the first human-machine interface (HMI) for burning table applications.
The system has a touchscreen panel operator interface, mimicking modern CNC panels. Multiple screens give the operator a visual of all system functions, providing instant access to information, feedback, and options.
Using the screen, the operator can choose which individual or group of lifting devices to use (magnets or vacuum pads), choose what to lift, move the item to the burning table, select the cut, and unload the item. Toggles and switches are not required, and one HMI screen can replace hundreds of wires needed for a conventional system.
The new system can handle plates as large as 10 by 50 ft. and as small as 2 by 3 ft. The vacuum cups, located next to the magnets, can be activated to handle very thin steel plate, aluminum plate, brass plate, and composite plate.
The HMI can service one or multiple tables.
