Bilsing Automation’s carbon fiber tooling provides high stiffness, decreased weight

Bilsing Automation has introduced its next-generation, ultrahigh-modulus, pitch-based carbon fiber composite tooling. According to the company, it features 15 percent stiffer fibers for increased strength and reduced deflection.

The carbon fiber tooling provides 3.5 times the stiffness of steel tooling at less than half the weight, reports the manufacturer. It also is lighter and stiffer than aluminum, helping to reduce vibration and deflection.

The company produces a series of round, square, and conical composite tools, as well as custom profiles that can be powder-coated to any color.
