Master-Edge straight edge from Suburban Tool made of aluminum

Suburban Tool Inc. has introduced the Master-Edge, a lightweight aluminum straight edge. According to the company, this product offers the same quality and precision as its cast-iron straight edge, but at about half the weight. It is made of 6063 extruded aluminum in a modified I-beam profile for rigidity and ease of handling.

The 1-7/8- by 3-7/8-in. version comes in 18-, 24-, and 36-in. lengths, straight and parallel within 0.0003 in./ft. The 2-1/8- by 4-1/8-in. version is available in lengths of 48, 60, 72, 96, and 120 in., straight and parallel within 0.0005 in./ft.
