SSAB’s Strenx 1100 Plus strip steel suitable for lifting equipment

SSAB has introduced Strenx® 1100 Plus strip steel, a hot-rolled, high-strength steel that offers improved weld seam strength. According to the company, the strength, elongation, and impact toughness properties of the welded area meet the minimum guarantees of the base material. This allows products made of the material to be designed based on the same minimum static strength for the entire application, depending on the design rules.

The material is suitable for use in lifting equipment, such as cranes, as well as lighter transportation systems and structures that require matching strength in the welds.
