Air plasma systems handle automated, mechanized cutting

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has introduced ESAB A-series air plasma systems for automated and mechanized cutting. The compact A40, A60, A80, and A120 plasma cutters provide an 80 percent duty cycle at their respective rated outputs of 40, 60, 80, and 120 amps. Production cutting and piercing capacities are 1/4 to 5/8 in.

The plasma cutters feature a CNC interface connection that offers start/stop, OK to move, and divided arc voltage signals. Dedicated automation software helps improve cycle time, and the system automatically detects the type of torch attached.

Users can switch between automated and manual plasma cutting by connecting a Thermal Dynamics SL60 or SL100 manual 1Torch.
