MG 4100 T plate roller can bend thick plate, conical shapes

The MG 4100 T is the latest plate rolling machine from MG Srl. Built for an Indian fabricating company that supplies parts to agricultural equipment manufacturers and structural steel companies, the machine can bend plate up to 100 mm (3.94 in.) and has a working width of 4,200 mm (165.4 in.).
The machine is 5 m (16.4 ft.) tall. The plate roller has three rolls, with the top roll having a diameter of 850 mm (33.4 in.).
The machine has the hydraulic capability to bend conical shapes. Two supports of 5,000 kg (11,023 lbs.) each, one central and one lateral with double joint, are in constant contact with the plate during the bending process.
This same type of plate rolling technology also is being used in the construction of oil and gas pipelines, silos for agricultural customers, and tanks for companies in the pharmaceutical and food processing industries. Recently the company also has seen an increase in applications involving various aluminum alloys.
This plate rolling machine is set up for advanced information collection, supporting the promise of Industry 4.0. Fabricators can receive real-time machine performance data digitally via Wi-Fi and make intelligent business decisions much more quickly than they could before when they were relying on paper reports from the shop floor. The company says its plate rolling equipment is designed to meet the technological requirements of digital manufacturing’s future.
The machine was tested in the presence of the customer and is being sent to India in seven containers. A team of MG technicians is scheduled to visit the customer for assembly and commissioning of the plate roller.
