Miller Weld-Mask 2 serves as alternative to welding helmet

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC has introduced the Weld-Mask™ 2, an alternative to welding helmets designed to protect a welder’s eyes and head and provide a reusable respirator while also allowing access to tight spaces.

The low-profile design makes the product about 40 percent lighter than a traditional autodarkening welding helmet, says the company. It features a large, singular lens to help improve visibility, and the close-fitting, soft eye covering provides total darkness for precision welding.

X-Mode™ technology continuously detects the arc, even when sensors are blocked, making it suitable for out-of-position, outdoor, and low-amp GTAW. The product fits under a hard hat without adapters, and the flashlight accessory frees both hands for welding.
