Optrel crystal2.0 welding helmet delivers near-perfect color perception

Optrel has introduced the crystal2.0 welding helmet. According to the company, it delivers 31 percent visible light transmission in its light state (protection level 2.0) and a nearly perfect color spectrum. In its light state, the lens offers a view that is the same as looking through a clear glass window. In its dark state, it provides a high-contrast, clear view of the welding pool.

Shade levels adjust automatically to changing arc conditions. Users are protected after a weld from lighting changes and afterglow to help reduce eye fatigue. Heat-reflecting paint helps keep the user 24 percent cooler than a traditional hood, the manufacturer states.
