Safety control unit bridges technology gap between safety relays, PLC systems
- February 24, 2014

- Safety
Tapeswitch Corp. offers a programmable, modular PCU safety control unit designed for use by small to midsized machinery builders, rebuilders, and users. The unit can be used to solve four specific market applications; upgrading traditional safety relays without using a PLC system; handling multiple safety devices in tandem depending on device selections and configuration; managing programming of logic control functions for those devices, multiple machinery locations, and machine safety integration in tandem; and integrating safety devices with existing PLC systems.
The modular PCU/1 main control unit has 14 expansion modules. The system can have up to 128 inputs, 16 dual channel safety outputs, and 16 status outputs. The company also offers an integrated PCU/1 main unit with PCUEU/1 for adding multiple safety device integration for switches, mats, edges, bumpers, and fail-safe 4 conductor machine safety products.
