Soft Touch Pinch-Point Safety System available from Rockford Systems

Rockford Systems LLC now provides sales, installation, and technical support on the Soft Touch Pinch-Point Safety System from Unitrol Electronics Inc. The passive, fail-safe system helps prevent riveters and spot welding machines from cycling if the system detects fingers in the point-of-operation area, without interfering with the production process during normal operations.

If the operator’s fingers or hands block electrode movement, the system detects a lack of electrical continuity between the electrodes, and the electrodes will open automatically, preventing riveting or welding force from being applied. The system cannot be removed or circumvented by the operator.
