Jet Tools’ JET EVS dual mitering band saw features frequency inverter

The new JET® 13-in. EVS semiautomatic dual mitering band saw has a swiveling head that miters 45 degrees right and 60 degrees left for quick angle cuts without repositioning the workpiece. A frequency inverter provides blade speeds from 50 to 297 RPM.

The band saw, which weighs 2,090 lbs., is constructed of heavy-gauge steel throughout to dampen vibration and prevent deflection. The machine is driven by a 3-HP, 230-/460-V, three-phase motor, which is prewired for 230-V, three-phase operation. A magnetic starter is employed for low voltage and lost phase protection.

For rapid clamping of workpieces, the 13- by 24-in. saw is equipped with a hydraulic vise that has a 26-in. maximum opening. After each cut, the saw’s semiautomatic bow raises to a predetermined height.
