3-D PDF publisher supports model-based definition processes

Theorem Solutions offers Publish 3D, a 3-D PDF document publishing product that supports model-based definition processes for downstream data reuse. Working directly from within a CAD session, the document publisher supports the creation of documentation into a 3-D PDF, combining interactive 3-D design data representations with full product manufacturing information. 3-D PDF documents can be used during the manufacturing process, removing the requirement for 2-D drawings to be output from the CAD source data.

This allows the designer to pass information including PMI, geometry, assembly structure, metadata, and visualization attributes directly to the manufacturing department, without the need for a single drawing to be produced.

With this product, the manufacturing engineer can work directly with a 3-D representation containing annotation and tolerance information without having to refer to a number of 2-D drawings.
