Clamp compatible with impact wrenches

Dimide has introduced the Dimide Clamp, which it says is the first impact wrench-compatible clamp. The high-strength steel clamp is lightweight, yet handles the high loads delivered by impact wrenches. Its screw and shoes are copper-coated to prevent weld spatter buildup, while the plates are zinc-coated to prevent corrosion.

The clamp can be tightened using the removable handle or any ½-in. hex head driver. This allows it to be hand-tightened like a typical C­clamp before being secured with an impact wrench to more than 5,000 lbs. of load. The clamp’s rotating jaws have four faces, two with V­grooves to grip pipe and two that are flat to grip plate.

Two sizes are available: a 5-in. opening capacity and 3-5/8-in. throat depth, and an 8-in. opening capacity and 5-3/4-in. throat depth.
