Lucifer Furnaces’ dual-chamber furnace processes small parts

Lucifer Furnaces has built a customized model LI84-M24 dual-chamber, fiber-lined furnace for a punch and die manufacturer.

The upper chamber heats to 2,200 degrees F. Its hot face includes low-heat-storage ceramic fiberboard for fast heat-up and cool-down. Heat radiates from coil-wound heating elements mounted on ceramic rods that are outside the insulation for easy replacement access.

The lower draw chamber heats to 1,600 degrees F. It is insulated with 2-1/2-in. insulating firebrick.

The chambers measure 12 by 18 by 24 in. and both are insulated with cold face backup insulation. They are operated individually with separate digital controls and thermocouples.
