Unit uses self-contained vacuum system to collect metal AM dust

Ruwac USA has introduced the NA35 series immersion separator for the collection of dust from metal additive manufacturing. It features a complete, self-contained vacuum system that keeps workspaces clean while eliminating the risk of an explosion from volatile dusts that may contain an ignition source.

The unit collects explosive or glowing media particles entering the vacuum and immediately mixes them in a turbulent liquid bath. From there, moving air and liquid are forced onto the materials rapidly, submerging and neutralizing them in the process in the vacuum’s hydrophobic and oleophobic water filter system. This process stops already contained materials from finding any ignition source that may be introduced into the vacuum.

The NA35 HD-110 immersion separation vacuum features a stainless steel liquid discharge valve located beneath the main housing that acts as the primary source in releasing filtered contents. Counterbalanced heavy-duty casters and a two-stack design provide portability, while the system’s external sight glass remains in place to reveal liquid levels. For the collection of smaller amounts of metal AM dust, the CV-NA7 immersion separation vacuum also is available.
