Vertical carousel improves operator ergonomics
- December 16, 2008
- Product Release
- Shop Management
The Remstar MegaStation® vertical carousel is designed to occupy minimal floor space, increase productivity, and improve operator ergonomics in fabricating equipment applications, according to the manufacturer. The system comprises shelves that rotate up or down via the shortest path, automatically delivering items to a pick window.
The carousel helps maximize use of overhead space and is designed to provide flexibility with more than 16,250 standard configurations available. It is suitable for facilities with a wide range of product heights, depths, and widths.
Items are automatically presented to the operator with the carousel, and an integrated pick-to-light system immediately identifies the item and quantity needed to pick or store. The carousel is compatible with several integrated pick-to-light hardware and software technologies and models.
The carousel delivers items to the operator at an ergonomically positioned work counter to help eliminate bending, stretching, or reaching for stored items. Rollout drawers also are available.
