CMM delivers high-speed scanning

Hexagon Mfg. Intelligence has unveiled the Global Evo CMM, designed in collaboration with Pininfarina design house.

Central to the design is Compass, a vibration-reduction technology that acts as a suspension system for the CMM. With this technology, the machine can compensate for vibrations caused by its own movements, enabling higher-speed scanning with no loss of accuracy, says the company. The CMM also features Scan Pilot firmware, which helps ensure rapid measurements even when scanning complex, unknown profiles.

A new Eco Mode power-saving function helps reduce the overall cost of operation. The Fly2 Mode is trajectory-optimizing technology that generates the most efficient path between points and generates the trajectory, minimizing non-value-added motions.
