Hexagon Mfg. Intelligence has introduced the Optiv Performance 322 CMM, a customizable, upgradeable benchtop unit. The small-footprint machine is suitable for the inspection of sheet metal stampings and profile scanning.
Weighing less than 400 lbs., the fixed-bridge, moving-table machine is light enough to be placed directly on existing workbenches and relocated without recalibration by a Hexagon engineer. Its granite construction helps increase accuracy and repeatability at speeds of 11.8 IPS.
Advanced temperature compensation technology calculates a correction value for measurement deviations to help ensure users get consistently stable results, says the company.
Equipped with PC-DMIS software, the CMM can measure a variety of different parts with minimal turnaround times. It is available in an entry-level, vision-only configuration, but its 3-D accuracy specification and precabling enables in-field upgrades to a 3-D multisensor systems supporting a range of contact and noncontact sensors. The sensors, controllers, PC, and measuring software can be customized and scaled to changing requirements.
