Mitutoyo America’s HR-530 hardness tester series expanded

Mitutoyo America Corp. has introduced two new Rockwell hardness testers: the HR-530 (maximum specimen size height: 9.8 in.; depth: 5.9 in.) and HR-530L (maximum specimen size height: 15.5 in.; depth 5.9 in.).

The machines can test the hardness of an inside ring wall without cutting the ring. Minimum diameter is 1.3 in., but IDs as small as 0.86 in. can be tested using the optional 0.19-in. diamond indenter.

A color touchscreen displays results of statistical calculations and graphic functions, which can be stored as text data. Touchscreen functions include direct hardness scale selection, curved surface compensation and measurement, statistical analysis, graphic display of statistical calculation results and X-R control charts, measurement with a nose-indenter shaft, and continuous measurement function.
