NDT inspection lamp works in UV-A and visible-light modes

Magnaflux has introduced the EV6500 LED UV inspection lamp. Designed for NDT, it offers 7,000 μW/cm2 high-intensity UV-A illumination with broad-coverage, 100 ft.-candle white light in a single hand-held LED lamp. Inspectors can switch from fluorescent inspection to visible flaw checking with a single device.

The lamp features built-in visible-light LEDs that provide 16 in. of bright, concentrated white light. Its UV illumination area is 85 sq. in. With the high-intensity LED array, indications are visible even at the edge of the 10-in. beam, and mercury vapor waste is eliminated.
