Spectro upgrades Spectrotest mobile metal analyzer

Spectro Analytical Instruments has upgraded its Spectrotest arc/spark mobile metal analyzer for applications in the metal producing, processing, and recycling industries.

The spectrometer delivers precise results in applications in which an exact metal analysis is required, materials are difficult to identify, or many samples are to be tested, the company states. It is suitable for on-site grade confirmation of incoming materials at the shipping dock or on the production floor and for use in metal sorting for value-optimized recycling.

The upgrade offers an advanced readout system, which is a prerequisite for the introduction of iCAL 2.0 calibration logic system, which enables the analyzer to delivery stability, even in ambient temperature changes. Users can perform a single-sample standardization in less than 5 min. at the start of the day’s testing, and the diagnostics help ensure stable performance throughout the day.
