UV lamp suitable for NDT inspection

Spectronics Corp. offers the Spectroline® UV-400 series SuperFlood™ UV lamp for fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection, parts degreasing inspections, and wash station inspections. A 400-W metal halide bulb, combined with tempered, heat-resistant, low-solarization UV filters, provides high intensity over a large area.

The UV-400A model has a concentrated-beam reflector to help ensure a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 8,000 µW/cm2 at lamp center, measured at 15 in. It irradiates an area as large as 16 by 10 in., producing a nominal steady-state UV-A irradiance of not less than 2,000 µW/cm2.

The UV-400B model has a broad-beam reflector to provide maximum uniformity of coverage over a large area. It has a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 5,000 µW/cm2 at lamp center, measured at 15 in. The lamp irradiates an area as wide as 27 by 15 in., producing a nominal steady-state UV-A irradiance of not less than 2,000 µW/cm2.
