Lincoln Tech launches welding training programs in Texas, Tennessee

Lincoln Educational Services Corp., Grand Prairie, Texas, a provider of specialized technical training, has introduced two new training options for spring 2017. A welding technology program now is available in Nashville, and the Grand Prairie, Texas, campus—an AWS Educational Institute member—will begin offering an expanded welding technology program featuring pipefitting classes.

Pipefitters prepare, cut, and weld steel pipe at job sites for construction projects, infrastructure maintenance, and manufacturing facilities. They perform welding processes such as plasma arc cutting, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW. The program offers courses that teach students the importance of the math and science behind these skills while emphasizing hands-on practice in individual welding booths.

The Nashville campus has launched a program that will help students build skills for welding as well as metal fabrication. Upon completion of the program, students will also be eligible to receive Level One and Two credentials from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
