Paley and James co-created sculptures to be sold at auction Nov. 17

“Raiden” (left), started by Paley and finished by James, is painted forged steel and fabricated copper. “Ambiguous Equation” (right), started by James and finished by Paley, is steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper with a combination of a painted finish and natural patina.

At FABTECH® 2017 in Chicago, sculpture artist Albert Paley and Jesse James of “Monster Garage” fame unveiled two sculptures, each started by one of them and finished by the other. The project was sponsored by ESAB and the five FABTECH co-sponsors: AWS, FMA, SME, PMA, and CCAI.

Those sculptures will be auctioned off at noon, Friday, Nov. 17, by the Wright auction house. Proceeds from the sale of the sculptures will benefit the FABTECH co-sponsors, supporting grants and educational opportunities for careers in the metalworking trades.
