zSpace, Mimbus partner to provide vocational training for welders

Mixed-reality education provider zSpace, Sunnyvale, Calif., has partnered with Mimbus, a provider of vocational training tools, to offer a new welding application and hand-held simulator for welders and boilermakers.

Called Wave NG, the application uses zSpace’s mixed-reality environment to give students hands-on welding training through a series of exercises that can be performed with the hand-held welding simulator. Using the zSpace platform, students receive a multisensory training experience, welding from multiple angles while using their eyes, ears, and hands to master core skills of the welder's trade such as concentration, precision, and dexterity.
