Consolidated copper welding cables reduce electrical resistance in Wire Wizard Welding Products’ PowerBall torches

Wire Wizard® Welding Products has expanded its line of PowerBall® torch products to include energy-efficient consolidated copper welding cables.

Cable lug connections commonly used in GMAW often are overlooked but can offer improvements in weld quality and electrical efficiency when the cable joints are optimized. All-copper connection points with consolidated copper lugs used in these welding cables provide superior conductivity with more than 72 percent less electrical resistance at the cable joints, the manufacturer reports.

Consolidated copper cables help improve welding performance by reducing electrical resistance in the GMAW secondary circuit. Lower resistance provides enhanced current flow, resulting in less heat buildup in the welding gun, reduced energy loss, and longer-lasting consumables with fewer arc failures, says the company.
