Hardfacing alloys designed for extreme-wear applications
- January 22, 2016
- Product Release
- Consumables
Stoody®, an ESAB brand, has added new nickel-based tungsten carbide consumables to its product line, including several new wire formulations and new PTA and laser cladding powder families, all designed for extreme-abrasion resistance.
The consumables are designed for use in harsh industrial applications. They are used to restore damaged components and to overlay parts to extend serviceable life.
The line includes 155FC (25 percent WC) gas-shielded buildup and buffer layer alloy; 160FC (48 percent WC) hardfacing overlay wire; 160FS (50 percent WC) wire consumable for the GMAW process; and a variety of PTA and laser cladding powders.
The wire products come in diameters from 1/16 to 3/32 in., spooled on 33-lb. wire baskets or in 50-lb. polypacks. The PTA and laser cladding powders come bottled in 10-lb. increments.
