Hess Industries launches Formitt Metal Labs
- August 8, 2006
- News Release
- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
Hess Industries Inc., Niles, Mich., has announced the launch of Formitt Metal Labs, created specifically to support product development for a variety of industries.
Formitt Metal Labs offers prototyping and short-run and production runs to get products to market quickly. The company serves Europe through its office in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.
The company utilizes spin forming, flow forming, and assembly technologies to create hollow symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes, fabrications, and assemblies using flat stock or tubing in both ferrous and nonferrous metals, including stainless and high-alloy steels.
Spin forming eliminates the need for welded tube end pieces, enhancing overall component quality and reliability, the company states. Flow forming is suitable for prototyping or production runs of typical, deep-drawn, tube-shaped parts requiring end closure. Hollow-tube fabricated assemblies may include the insertion of filtration elements, heat exchange components, and catalytic elements.
